Model HR1000/HR1025 Specification Profile Ultra-Pro HR1000 8'-2" & HR1025 10' MAIN SUPPORT POST & EXTENSION BOOM: Constructed of heavy gauge steel sheet metal, cut and formed into a tapered trapezoid tube to provide maximum strength versus weight. All welded construction. BASE CONSTRUCTION: The base is all steel construction consisting of twin "S" trusses running the length of the base connected at the rear by minimum 2-1/4" thick bulkhead plates which also serves as the primary ballast material. The front of the base uses an "A" frame structure of 1/4" x 3" x 5" angle to connect the twin "S" trusses. The base is designed to provide a tapered outline on the floor to present a narrow frontal area to reduce obstruction to players and enhance spectator's view of game under the basket. All welded construction. SPRING ASSISTED FOLDING AND SET-UP: Unit is operated via "Spring Assist". 4" diameter chrome silicon springs balance the weight of the backboard, accessories, folding post and extension boom. One person operates the "Spring Assist" system. MAJOR PIVOT POINTS: For maximum life and smooth operations all major pivot locations rotate on either high load needle or ball bearings. All major pivot points are backed up by a secondary system to prevent collapse of the support structure in the unlikely event that a bearing fails during operations. STORAGE LATCH: During transportation the main post is locked down into the folded position by means of a retaining latch. When the system is placed into playing position, the storage latch is concealed inside the main post. BASE AND POST PADDING: This portable backstop is equipped standard with 3" foam padding mounted on 9/16" OSB board covered with a 12 oz vinyl laminate. Side pads use 2" foam as standard. Padding extends down to the floor during play and rises to 5" above the floor for transport over unleveled surfaces. The padding need not be removed for any required repairs. Custom colors and Advertisement Pads are available. PORTABILITY: Transport of the backstop is provided by four 8" x 2" non-marking casters at the rear of the base. Two swivel casters support the front of the base during transport. In certain cases where transport is required over unusually rough terrain, a forklift can be used from the side without removal of the side padding. LOCATOR: The rear of the unit is quickly located via the rear wheel bolt down guide plates. This guide plate aligns the rear of the unit and axes as a tie down structure to prevent movement at the rear of the unit during aggressive play. The front of the unit is locked into place with a lever actuated brake system. The brake system is comprised of a flat foot, which provides 100 square inches of floor contact, and is padded to provide floor protection. A single floor plate is used at the front of the base for location of the unit. This brake and lock down system insure no movement during play and guarantees accurate positioning from set up to set up. REAR ANCHOR SYSTEM: As required by NCAA and NBA regulations, each support system is equipped with two shock absorbing lock down pins located in the rear section of the base. These lock down pins are positioned inside the base to prevent tampering and do not compromise the smooth exterior of the unit. SHOT CLOCK SUPPORT: An independent shot clock support post is provided to match the requirements of new or existing shot clocks. It is mounted just behind the backboard as per NCAA and NBA regulations. BACKBOARD ATTACHMENT: The backboard 42" x 72" meets all NFHS, NCAA requirements. The backboard is attached to the extension boom at the goal mounting plate. This insures all rim pressures bypass the glass backboard and are transferred directly to the support system. It folds flat to enhance the basic storage dimension of the support system without compromising the levelness of the backboard when repositioned for play. The attachment method provides a lifetime warranty on the backboard. FINISH: All metal surfaces are chemically cleaned and primed.
